Inspiration

The Bellaro Vase is a round orchard jar painted like a summer tablecloth. The body is ceramic in a full, almost spherical shape with a short neck, glazed white and hand-painted all around with rows of bright red cherries hanging from thin black stems, each pair tipped with a small dot of yellow. Two black lines circle the body and split the fruit into bands, the way stripes divide a picnic cloth. At the neck and the foot, a red border with small white squares frames the whole piece like the checked edge of a napkin. It is the same cherry motif as the Bellaro Ornament, drawn loose and by hand so every cherry sits a little differently.
