The Renvik Table Lamp started from the turned wooden vases and candlesticks found in old Scandinavian farmhouses, where one piece of wood is shaped into a low, rounded belly and a narrow neck. We kept that outline for the base and set a small tapered shade on top, the way an old oil lamp carries its glass chimney. The shade is made from shell laid in overlapping pieces, in a wide, short shape or a tall, slim one. Switched on, either shade becomes a small warm lantern above the dark wood.

Each Docos lamp is shaped from a single, slow-grown hardwood — oak, walnut, ash, cherry — finished by hand and fitted with warm 2700K bulbs. No two pieces are alike, because no two trees are.

From measurement to finish, woodworking demands a balance of structure and patience. Every cut is squared, every joint dry-fit, every surface hand-sanded to 220 grit before oiling.
