The Mirelden Floor Lamp started from the pleated paper lanterns hung on tall wooden poles at summer garden parties, glowing at head height after the sun went down. We kept the round, finely pleated lantern and set it on a single tapered post, thicker at the bottom and narrowing as it rises, like a pole planted in the lawn. A small curved bracket ties the post to a flat round foot. Lit, the pleats catch the light in thin bright lines, the way those lanterns did across the garden.

Each Docos lamp is shaped from a single, slow-grown hardwood — oak, walnut, ash, cherry — finished by hand and fitted with warm 2700K bulbs. No two pieces are alike, because no two trees are.

We use FSC-certified North American hardwoods and finish with low-VOC oils. Built to last decades, not seasons.
From measurement to finish, woodworking demands a balance of structure and patience. Every cut is squared, every joint dry-fit, every surface hand-sanded to 220 grit before oiling.
Each curve is shaped to honor the grain, not fight it. The result isn't just a lamp — it's a story of patience, passed from craftsman to customer through a single block of wood.
