The Mivella is a small posy pressed to the wall. Five ruffled blooms lean out on green stems at slightly different heights, the way stems do in a jar of picked flowers — none of them quite matching, none of them straight. The ruffled edges were drawn from cottage-garden petunias, whose petals crimp at the rim instead of finishing cleanly. Lit from within, the blooms turn into something a child would look for in the dark rather than a light fixture on a wall.
