See It In Action

The Vico Gingko Chandelier brings the outside in — not as a motif or a pattern, but as a material fact. Ceramic ginkgo leaves, each formed individually, extend from a brass frame alongside frosted glass shades that diffuse the light into a soft, layered warmth. The effect, when lit, is somewhere between a chandelier and a living thing — a room object that changes the character of the ceiling above a dining table or entryway in a way that no other fixture quite manages.

Why Ginkgo The ginkgo is one of the oldest surviving tree species on Earth — its fan-shaped leaf has remained essentially unchanged for 200 million years. That persistence is part of what makes it a compelling design reference: a form that has proven itself over time rather than following a trend. The ceramic leaves on the Vico Chandelier carry that quality — each one is hand-formed, which means each cluster has a slight variation that mass-produced fixtures don't. The chandelier looks assembled, not manufactured.

What Makes Vico Gingko
🍂 Ceramic Ginkgo Leaves Each leaf is made from fired ceramic — a material that carries weight and texture that plastic and metal leaf replicas don't have. They catch the light differently from every angle in the room.
🫧 Blown Glass Shades The frosted glass diffuses each bulb into something soft and individual — multiple small points of warmth rather than one uniform output. The result is atmospheric in a way a single diffuser never achieves.
Brass Frame The warm brass framework holds the composition together and adds a refined, considered quality to the fixture — whether the light is on or off, the chandelier reads as something made with care.
🔆 Dimmer Compatible From full brightness for a dinner party to a barely-there amber ambiance. Pair with a dimmer switch (sold separately) for complete control over the room's mood.
🍃 About the Ginkgo Leaves: A small amount of glue is applied at the metal interface of each ceramic leaf to secure it during transit and long-term use. Slight glue residue on the leaf surface is a normal part of the production process — not a quality defect — and does not affect the appearance or functionality of the chandelier.

The Ginkgo Chandelier

Hand-cast porcelain leaves on solid metal branches, suspended like a quiet canopy.

4 Sizes 3 Finishes 3 Settings UL Listed · Made-to-Order
01 · The Piece

A handcrafted porcelain ginkgo chandelier built around the quiet logic of a single leaf — repeated, never identical. Each fixture is composed of individually cast white porcelain leaves that glow softly when lit, suspended on a solid metal armature designed for dining rooms, foyers, and stairwells where light should feel grown rather than installed.

03 · Materials

Three steps, seventeen days

Each fixture is cast, refined, and assembled by hand in our atelier. From wet porcelain slip to a lit canopy, every leaf passes through three distinct stages — none of them shortcut.

Casting a porcelain ginkgo leaf by hand

01 · Cast

Liquid porcelain slip is poured into hand-carved plaster molds. The plaster pulls moisture from the slip, leaving a thin ceramic shell that holds the fan-shaped silhouette of a single ginkgo leaf.

Refining and trimming an unfired porcelain leaf

02 · Refine

Each leaf is unmolded by hand. The central notch is carved manually and the edges fettled with small tools — never sanded smooth, so the silhouette retains its soft, hand-made irregularity.

Fired porcelain leaves assembled on metal armature, lit

03 · Fire & Assemble

A 14-hour kiln cycle at 1280°C vitrifies the porcelain into a pure white finish that glows warmly under light. Each leaf is then wired onto the solid metal armature by eye, positioned to mimic the layered depth of a natural canopy.

01Is the Ginkgo chandelier dimmable?

Yes. The fixture is compatible with standard trailing-edge / TRIAC dimmers when paired with dimmable LED bulbs. Lutron Caséta and Leviton dimmers are the most reliable pairings we've tested.

02What bulbs does it use? Are they included?

Each socket takes an E12 candelabra base, 4W LED maximum. Bulbs are included with every fixture — we ship matched clear filament-style LEDs (2700K) tuned to flatter the white porcelain leaves; frosted bulbs are available on request for a softer glow.

03Will the porcelain leaves vary in color?

Yes — and intentionally so. High-fired porcelain develops subtle tonal differences leaf to leaf, even within a single firing. We grade and pair leaves so each chandelier reads as a coherent whole, but no two fixtures are identical.

04Does it hardwire or plug in?

The chandelier hardwires into a standard ceiling junction box. Installation requires a licensed electrician. A plug-in conversion is not recommended due to weight and load considerations.

05What ceiling type and weight support is required?

For Petite and Medium sizes, a standard junction box with a load-rated bracket is sufficient. For Large and Grand, we recommend a reinforced bracket or blocking between joists rated for a minimum of 100 lbs (45 kg). Detailed weight specs are in the install guide.

06What's the lead time?

Standard sizes ship within 8–10 weeks of order confirmation. Custom dimensions, finishes, or leaf densities add 2–4 weeks. We provide tracked production updates at the casting, firing, and assembly stages.

07Can I order custom dimensions or finishes?

Yes. Custom diameters from 18" to 84" (46–213 cm), custom heights, and non-standard metal finishes are available. Minimum order quantity for trade-only colorways is one unit; pricing varies by complexity. Email info@docos.us with your space dimensions and ceiling height to start.

08How is it cleaned?

Dust the porcelain leaves with a dry microfiber cloth or soft brush every few months. Avoid water and chemical cleaners. The metal armature can be wiped with a dry cloth — no polishing required.
