The Beadora began with two coastal habits: rope wound tight around anything that needed shape, and beads strung on a line and hung wherever a room needed softening — across a doorway, along a shelf edge, over a window. Here the rope forms the body and the beads become a garland swagged around its lower rim, draping instead of hanging straight. The wood canopy keeps the whole thing warm at the ceiling, so nothing in the fixture reads as hardware.
Scale to the surface below: the small over a breakfast nook, bedside, kid's room, or hallway; the medium as a single over a small dining table or in pairs over an island; the large over a six-seat table, a wide island, or a covered porch. Hang the bottom of the shade 30–36″ above a table or island, or about 7 ft off the floor in an open room or hallway.
The single 9W bulb gives gentle ambient light — enough for mood, not enough as the only light over a work surface, so add under-cabinet or recessed lighting in a working kitchen. Jute and wood pair with white oak floors, raw plaster walls, linen drapery, terracotta tile, rattan furniture, and natural-toned cabinets.
