Inspiration

The Bohemira Pendant Light takes its logic from a woven basket turned upside down and given a hem. Jute rope is wound around the cone by hand, so the weave tightens and loosens the way rope does, and light finds the gaps rather than passing through a surface. The fringe is the other half of the idea: two stacked tiers of cotton tassels, deep enough to move in a draft and to throw soft shadow lines down onto the table below.

It uses 1 × E26 or E27 medium screw base and ships with a 3000K warm white LED bulb. Use LED only — not incandescent or halogen — since the jute and cotton sit close to the socket and prefer a cool-running bulb.

Will the cotton fringe shed?

A few loose threads in the first weeks, yes — normal for natural cotton rather than a defect. Trim strays with sharp scissors flush to the fringe; don't pull them. Shedding usually stops within a month. Color, fringe length and tassel density also vary slightly piece to piece, which comes with hand-finished tassel work.

Can I use it on a covered patio or in a bathroom?

No — jute and cotton are indoor dry locations only. Keep it out of bathrooms with a shower or tub, damp basements, spots directly above a steaming sink, and covered outdoor patios. Humidity weakens the jute weave, mottles the cotton, and encourages mildew on natural fibers.
