Inspiration

The Caltheron Chandelier is a waterfall of glass tubes. It follows the tronchi chandeliers of 1960s Venice: short lengths of clear ribbed glass tubing, open at both ends, hung by the dozen from stacked iron rings in copper tone, each ring smaller than the one above so the tubes step down like water over rocks. A copper-tone chain and canopy carry it from the ceiling. Lit from within, the ribs catch the light and the whole cascade sparkles without color, which is why this clear glass tube cascade chandelier was designed for a dining room, two-story entry, or bedroom in Hollywood Regency, mid-century, and transitional homes.

Which size fits my room?

30cm works as a single drop over a nook or bedside; 52cm over a table up to 150cm/5 ft; 65cm over a 180–210cm/6–7 ft table; 90cm for a two-story entry or a table over 240cm/8 ft.

Can my ceiling hold the large sizes?

The 65cm weighs 16kg/35 lb and the 90cm 35kg/77 lb. Both need a ceiling box rated for that load, or a fan-rated brace fixed to a joist; the two smaller sizes hang from a standard box.

How is it shipped and assembled?

The frame ships assembled and the tubes are packed in foam trays. After the frame is hung, each tube hooks onto its ring by hand — no tools, though the 204-tube size takes about an hour.

Which bulbs should I use?

Small-base E12 or E14 LEDs at 3000K are included, one per socket. The warm tone gives the clear glass a champagne cast; clear bulbs make the ribs sparkle most.
