Inspiration

The Maruvia came out of the striped awnings and rope-wound market baskets of small Mediterranean harbor towns — burgundy against cream, wound rather than printed, so the pattern belongs to the structure instead of sitting on it. Cord was chosen for what it does to light: wrapped over a frame, it glows rather than glares, the way canvas does with afternoon sun behind it. The tiered shade and hourglass base give the whole thing the posture of something turned on a lathe.

FAQ

Will US bulbs fit the E27 socket?

Yes. E27 and the standard US E26 base are cross-compatible, so US replacement bulbs thread straight in. A warm white 3000K LED bulb is included and fully replaceable.

Will the stripes match the photos exactly?

Close, but not identically. The cord is wound by hand over the frame, so stripe width, alignment at the seam, and the exact depth of the burgundy vary a little between pieces. That variation is characteristic of wound natural fiber rather than a defect.

Can I use it in a bathroom?

Not one with a shower or tub. Cotton cord isn't damp-rated, and sustained steam can stain the fiber and loosen the winding over time. A dry powder room is fine; keep it away from sinks where it might get splashed.
