Inspiration

The Rowen comes from the paper lanterns set along a temple path at dusk — a line of small square boxes, each glowing on its own. Rather than spreading them across a room, they were stacked: one box on top of another, held on slim rods so the column reads as light stepping upward. The round cut-out on each face is the one soft shape in an otherwise squared frame, and it repeats four times per box so the lantern looks the same from wherever you sit.

What does "3, 4, or 5 modules" mean?

It is the number of lit lantern boxes in the column. Each module holds its own E27 bulb, so more modules mean more lit height and more light — the five-module version runs five bulbs. Overall height stays 67″ (171 cm) either way; what changes is how much of the column glows.

What bulbs does it use, and are they included?

One E27 (medium screw base) bulb per module, 45W max each, and warm white bulbs are included. E27 is cross-compatible with the standard US E26 base, so US replacements thread right in.

Is it a reading light or ambient lighting?

It is ambient. The frosted globes diffuse each bulb into a soft, even glow for atmosphere — good beside a reading chair as background light, but pair it with a directed lamp for close reading.

Are the frames real wood, and where can I use it?

The frames and base are iron and acrylic in a wood-grain finish, not solid wood. It is plug-in — a 59″ cord from the base, no wiring needed — and rated for indoor dry locations on a flat floor, so keep it out of bathrooms and covered outdoor spaces.
