The Tessford Table Lamp started from the striped awnings over old seaside shops, pale canvas with dark bands, scalloped along the edge and held up on turned wooden posts. We kept that pairing: a striped shade with a wavy hem, set on a base turned like a newel post or a chess piece. The three bases came from three different posts we liked, one low and round, one stacked, one tall and waisted. Lit, the shade glows between its dark stripes like an awning with the sun behind it.

Solid Wood Lighting
Each Docos lamp is shaped from a single, slow-grown hardwood — oak, walnut, ash, cherry — finished by hand and fitted with warm 2700K bulbs. No two pieces are alike, because no two trees are.

We use FSC-certified North American hardwoods and finish with low-VOC oils. Built to last decades, not seasons.
From measurement to finish, woodworking demands a balance of structure and patience. Every cut is squared, every joint dry-fit, every surface hand-sanded to 220 grit before oiling.
Each curve is shaped to honor the grain, not fight it. The result isn't just a lamp — it's a story of patience, passed from craftsman to customer through a single block of wood.
