Inspiration

The Marvessa Wall Sconce started from a walk along a rocky shore at low tide, where a white scallop shell had washed up and come to rest against a dark, wave-worn stone. The rock had soft, rounded edges from years of water, and the shell's ribs fanned out from one corner in fine lines. We kept the two of them together on the wall: a slab of veined marble with a wavy, worn-looking edge, and a white glass dome with ribs that swirl out like the shell's.

Natural marble

The backplate is cut from natural marble. The veining, color and pattern differ on every piece, so no two sconces look exactly the same, and a pair will not match exactly.

FAQ
Is the backplate real marble?
Yes. The backplate is cut from natural marble, so the veining and pattern vary from piece to piece. Wipe it with a dry cloth and keep acidic cleaners off the stone.
Which marble color should I choose?
Viola Purple has a pale ground with bold purple-brown veins, Dark Brown is warm and deep against a light wall, and Dark Green gives the strongest contrast with the white glass dome.
Where should I mount it?
At 16.3cm/6.4″ across, it suits a bedside wall, either side of a powder room mirror, or a row along a hallway or stairway. A pair on each side of a bed or a mirror is the most common setup.
Is a bulb included, and how is it installed?
Yes. It comes with one G9 bulb in warm 3000K light. G9 is a small bi-pin bulb, so use the same type when you replace it. The sconce is hardwired to a wall junction box, so we recommend a licensed electrician for installation.
