How does a candle warmer lamp work?

Set a jar candle on the base plate under the shade and switch the lamp on. The bulb above gently warms the top of the wax, which releases the candle's fragrance without lighting the wick — no flame, no soot, and a soft glow through the green glass.

Which bulb do I need, and is it included?

A GU10 halogen bulb, 35W or 50W — it must be halogen, not LED, since the heat is what melts the wax. Bulb and candle are not included; GU10 halogen bulbs are widely stocked (see the link above).

Does it get hot — is it safe?

Yes, the shade and bulb area get hot in use, since that warmth is what melts the candle. Use heat-safe jar candles only, set the lamp on a stable, heat-tolerant surface, don't leave it unattended, and keep it away from children and pets — the hanging charms are small. Unplug it after use and let it cool before handling.

What candles fit?

Yes. It's made to melt standard large jar candles and 3-wicks up to about 4″ (10 cm) wide — including the ones you already own. There are no proprietary refills.

Is a candle warmer lamp really flameless and safe around kids and pets?

There's no wick and nothing burning — only a warm bulb above the wax — so it's far safer to leave on than an open flame. Place it on a stable surface and switch it off before bed if you prefer.

Will it melt the whole candle and stop tunneling?
