Inspiration

The base is a stack of spheres, each a little larger than the one above — the logic of a child's stacking toy, or a balustrade seen from a low chair. Painting it sky blue rather than a wood or metal tone keeps it in that register. The shade answers with two dressmaking moves: a scalloped hem instead of a cut edge, and pink piping run around the rim, the way a pillowcase gets finished. Nothing on the lamp is a straight line.

Is it suitable for a nursery or a child's room?

The light itself suits one well — a soft ambient glow rather than anything harsh, which is what you want for night feeds or a bedtime routine. Two practical points: place it toward the back of a dresser or nightstand where it can't be knocked, and route the cord behind the furniture rather than down the front, since a trailing cord is the real hazard with any plug-in lamp in a child's room. For homework or close reading, add a separate task lamp.

Will US bulbs fit the socket?

Yes. E27 and the standard US E26 base are cross-compatible, so US replacement bulbs thread straight in. A warm white 3000K LED bulb is included and fully replaceable.

How do I deal with marks on the white shade?

Dust it regularly — most discoloration on a pale shade is accumulated dust rather than staining. For a mark, dab with a barely damp cloth and let it dry fully rather than rubbing; water rings on white fabric are harder to fix than the mark itself. Keep moisture away from the pink piping in particular, since trim can wick and darken along its length.
