Inspiration

The Carmelle Wall Sconce hangs its shade from a hook the way a lantern would once have hung from a shepherd's crook — one continuous arc of steel, nothing bracketed or braced. Weaving the shade from rattan rather than lining it with fabric lets the light escape through the weave as well as the open bottom, and the fluted sunburst backplate answers the woven texture with a pleated one, so the two materials read as a pair rather than as hardware plus shade.

Mounted at 60–66″ from the floor, the Carmelle sits at reading height beside a headboard — install a pair 4–6″ out from the edges of a queen or king bed for symmetry. Along a hallway, space pairs 6–8 ft apart at 66″ floor-to-center, where the 8″ projection stays clear of traffic in a standard 36″-plus corridor. What bulb does it use? Is it included?
The socket fits an E12 or E14 candelabra base (E12 is the US standard for chandelier-style bulbs; E14 is the European equivalent and the same physical socket here), up to 25W incandescent or 5W LED equivalent. The bulb is not included — look for "candelabra base" or "E12 chandelier bulb" at Home Depot, Lowe's or Amazon, and choose a 3000K warm white LED for soft, dimmable light.
Can I install it myself, or do I need an electrician?
It hardwires to a standard US wall junction box. A confident DIYer with hardwire experience can manage it, but a licensed electrician is recommended for code compliance. At 1.2 lb the fixture is very light, so no reinforced bracing is needed.
Can I use it in a bathroom or outdoors?
Not over a shower or tub, and not outdoors — it's rated for dry locations only. A powder room or a vanity away from the shower zone is fine; sustained moisture will warp the natural rattan and isn't covered under warranty.
How should I mount a pair flanking a bed?
Center each sconce 60–66″ from the floor — reading height when you're sitting up — and set the pair 4–6″ out from the outer edges of a queen or king. Each fixture needs its own wall junction box, wired to one switch or two.
