Kikyo draws on Japanese folk pottery, where indigo was brushed onto everyday stoneware — bowls, cups, small plates — in marks that read as pattern rather than picture. The shade keeps the plainest form in that family, a shallow cone, so the glaze does the work: a chrysanthemum, a run of brushstrokes, dots, leaves, or thin stripes, closed off with a brown rim the way a potter finishes an edge. Each one is painted by hand, which is why no two shades match exactly.
Five hand-painted patterns, each on a warm cream stoneware base with a brown glazed rim. Choose at checkout.

Because it plugs in, Kikyo suits renters and anyone redecorating without electrical work — above a nightstand, over a breakfast nook or two-seat table, at the end of a kitchen island, or in a reading corner with no junction box nearby. At Ø7″ the shade stays small enough to hang in pairs without visual weight, and each painted pattern reads as a small textile-like accent, so it sits well with linen, oak furniture, and warm brass hardware. Our complete plug-in collection—pendants and wall sconces—designed for renters, dorms, and anyone whose dream home wasn't built with the lights in the right place. Hang it. Plug it in. Done in five minutes.
Hang it from above, mount it on the wall—both versions plug into any standard outlet, both install in five minutes, both work in any rental. Pick the geometry that fits your space.
Hangs from the ceiling on a 1.8-meter cord. Drape, swag, or drop straight down—then plug into any wall outlet. Perfect over beds, dining tables, reading chairs, or kitchen islands.
Mounts directly to any wall with the included adhesive plate or removable hook—no drilling, no electrician. Perfect beside beds, sofas, hallways, or stairwells where overhead lighting won't reach.
The plug-in series exists because beautiful light shouldn't depend on whether your apartment came with the right ceiling box—or whether you own the apartment at all. Every pendant and sconce in the line plugs straight into any outlet.
Three blockers we see across thousands of customer messages—and the reason this whole series exists. Pendants and sconces, both designed to skip every one of these.
Every pendant and every sconce in the series ships with everything you need to skip the electrician—and nothing you don't.
No drilling, no rewiring. Every component comes off cleanly when you move out.
Fabric-wrapped, drape-able. Reach almost any spot from any wall outlet.
Ceiling hooks, adhesive plates, removable mounts—all included. No drill, no studs to find.
Click on, click off. Works with smart bulbs, warm-dim LEDs, and standard incandescent.
Stop letting your home's wiring dictate where things go. Drape across the ceiling. Swag through a hook. Mount a sconce anywhere on the wall. The cord becomes part of the design, not something to hide.
From any outlet to almost any spot in the room—pendants reach across, sconces reach beside. Pick the geometry your room asks for.
If you can hang a picture frame, you can install any fixture in this series. Pendant or sconce—same five-minute process, same zero electricians.
For pendants: use the included ceiling hook or adhesive ceiling mount. For sconces: peel and stick the included wall plate—or use a removable wall hook. No drill, no anchors, no commitment.
Hang the pendant from the hook, or click the sconce onto the wall plate. Route the cord along the ceiling, wall, or beam to the nearest outlet—whichever path looks best.
Connect to any standard wall outlet, flick the inline switch, and step back. Your space is transformed—and you didn't drill a single hole.
From bedside to kitchen island, hallway to reading nook—see how the plug-in series transforms spaces traditional fixtures can't reach.
Warm glow on either side—no nightstands, no drilling.
Sculptural form, soft pool of light by the sofa.
Real task light where rental kitchens are darkest.
Warm sconce light where overhead never reaches.
Pendants, sconces, and everything in between—designed to plug into any outlet, install in five minutes, and move with you when the lease ends.

Looks beautiful over my kitchen island.
Smaller than i thought from the pic. Still looks nice though just wish the shade was bigger.
Beautiful piece. Got it for our kitchen nook.
Hangs perfectly by the bedside.
Hangs over our kitchen island. Switch could be in a better spot but overall really happy.
The hand-painted pattern is gorgeous. Plug in setup was way easier than i expected, no electrician needed.

Hangs perfectly by the bedside.
The hand painted design is gorgeous and the plug-in setup was super easy. Wish it was a bit cheaper for what it is but happy with it in our breakfast nook.
Exactly what we wanted for our bedroom.
The hand painted ceramic is so pretty.
Really like the blue pattern. Cord is longer than i needed tho, had to kinda bunch it up. Still looks good in my office.
Got this for our breakfast nook and it's perfect.
Love the look but had to figure out what to do with all the extra cord. Ended up wrapping it around the hook a few times which worked fine i guess. The blue pattern is really nice though.
It's pretty but the shade is smaller than i thought from the pictures. Still works fine in our hallway.
Pretty lamp but smaller than i thought it would be. Still works fine just not as much of a statement piece as i hoped.
Was nervous about the plug-in setup but honestly it's perfect. No electrician needed and the cord setup actually looks really good. The hand-painted ceramic shade is gorgeous and the inline switch is convenient. Hung it over our dining table and it's become such a conversation piece.
Obsessed with the pattern.
