The Celine Plug-In Pendant Light starts from the glazed earthenware hung in European farmhouse kitchens, where a shade was often just a plate turned upside down. The brown trim and small bow motifs are painted on by hand the way a potter would sign a piece, and the walnut neck and porcelain bead carry over from cupboard hardware rather than lighting parts. Five shade shapes come from the same idea, ranging from a flat scalloped disc to a ruffled skirt.

The Celine works best as a plug-in pendant for a kitchen island end or a swag pendant for a breakfast nook, hung 30–36″ above the surface, or 24–30″ above a nightstand as a bedside pendant. The wide scalloped-disc and shallow-plate shapes spread light across a 2–4 seat table, while the petal and ruffled shapes throw a softer, more decorative downlight. Since nothing is hardwired, it also suits renters — and because the shade is open below the rim, a vintage filament bulb gives the strongest folk-pottery look.
