The Clemavie Pendant Lamp takes its shade from a pleated skirt with an embroidered hem. The cone is white ceramic formed in fine vertical ribs, the way pleats fall from a waistband, and around the lower edge runs a raised border of small painted flowers, green leaves and a single butterfly, like a band of stitching near the hem. The butterfly comes in two colorways: orange with pink and red blooms, or soft blue with pink blooms. Above the shade, a brass-tone fitting and three round wood-tone beads are strung on a twisted cord like a short necklace, rising to a round brass-tone canopy. Lit, the ribs pick up light and shadow and the flowers stand out against the white glaze.

Every Docos base is shaped, glazed, and fired by artisans with decades of practice. We fire our stoneware to 1300°C — nearly twice the heat of standard ceramics — giving each piece the density of stone and the smoothness of jade. No two are identical. None of them are accidents.
