The Limonelle Ceiling Lamp started from a lemon chiffon cake at a summer birthday party, turned out of its fluted tin so the top rose up soft and round and the edge came out in neat scallops. It was set on a plate printed with small blue polka dots, and the kids could not wait to cut into it. We kept the puffed, rounded top and the scalloped edge, colored it lemon yellow, and scattered blue dots across it.
