Inspiration

The Marielle takes the plain fabric lampshade and cuts it into petals — six panels, each seamed and curved so the bottom edge scallops instead of finishing in a straight ring. Two tones of cloth, cream against beige, keep the panels reading separately even when the light is off. At the top, a turned walnut finial does the job a metal fitting usually does, which is the whole idea: soft cloth, warm wood, and as little visible hardware as possible.
