Fabric Lampshade Cleaning Methods
Routine Cleaning (Every 1–2 Weeks)

Primarily dry cleaning

Gently brush off dust with a soft brush/feather duster

Or use a vacuum cleaner + low setting + soft brush attachment to vacuum surface dust

Deep Cleaning (Every 2–3 Months)

Removing stains

Use a slightly damp white soft cloth dipped in a small amount of neutral detergent (such as mild laundry detergent)

Gently press or wipe in small areas (do not rub vigorously to avoid pilling/deformation)

Then wipe off detergent residue with a damp cloth

Finally, use a dry cloth to absorb water and air dry naturally

Overall Cleaning (If very dirty)

Add warm water + a small amount of neutral detergent to a basin

Use a cloth dipped in water to gently pat clean (do not soak the entire lampshade, especially those with metal frames/adhesive structures)

Similarly, use a damp cloth to remove detergent residue

Air dry naturally, avoid direct sunlight or hot air from a hairdryer

Metal Base Cleaning Methods

Since it's a metal base (like the linear wall lights and outdoor light bases you've dealt with before), the general steps are as follows:

1. Routine Dust Removal

Wipe directly with a dry microfiber soft cloth

Use a soft brush to gently sweep dust from crevices

2. Removing Fingerprints/Light Stains

Dip a soft cloth in warm water + a small amount of neutral detergent (dish soap/mild laundry detergent is fine)

Wring until slightly damp and not dripping, gently wipe the surface of the base

Wipe again with a damp cloth to remove residual detergent

Finally, polish and dry with a dry cloth

3. Stubborn Stains/Oxidation Spots

Use a metal-specific cleaning paste or polish (suitable for: stainless steel, aluminum, brass, plated metals)

Apply a pea-sized amount to a cloth and gently rub in small circles

After treatment, wipe clean with a damp cloth and polish with a dry cloth
