The Noverian Travertine Chandelier is a bamboo rain chime cut in stone. Each drop is a short cylinder of yellow travertine, the pitted, sand-colored rock of Roman fountains, with a cap of frosted acrylic at both ends, so it looks like a section of stalk sawn from a longer cane. The cylinders hang from a black ceiling plate on their own thin cables at staggered heights, the way chime tubes are hung so none touches its neighbor, and from below they form a loose spiral that steps down through the air. When the LEDs are on, the acrylic ends glow warm and the travertine between them stays dark, a column of light marked off by bands of stone.
