Inspiration

The Vellacourt Chandelier started from the carved wooden candle chandeliers that hung in old country inns across northern Europe: a turned center column topped with a ball, S-shaped arms curling out from a deep bowl, and a wide saucer under every candle to catch the wax. We kept the column, the scrolled arms and the fluted bowl with its finial, carved them by hand, and set a round white glass globe on each saucer where the candle used to stand.

FAQ
6 or 8 lights?
The 6-light (84cm/33.1″) suits a dining table about 5–6 ft long or a room of around 12 x 14 ft. The 8-light (92cm/36.2″) suits a 6–8 ft dining table, a larger living room or a foyer. Both are 63cm/24.8″ tall before the chain.
Black, Ivory White or Walnut?
Black gives the carved frame a sharp, dark outline. Ivory White is a soft cream for a French country or cottage room. Walnut is a warm brown that looks like old carved wood. All three come with the same white glass globes.
Is the frame real wood?
No. The frame is fiberglass-reinforced resin, carved and sanded by hand and finished in a wood tone, so it keeps the look of carved wood. Dust it with a soft dry cloth.
How is it installed?
It is hardwired to a ceiling junction box, so we recommend a licensed electrician. Adjust the 50cm/19.7″ chain so the bottom hangs about 76–91cm/30–36″ above a dining table. The G9 bulbs are included.
