The Mirewood Wall Sconce came from the reading light in the cabin of an old wooden sailboat. It was screwed to a round wooden plate beside the bunk, with a short arm, a little cone-shaped shade you could tip toward the page, and a bead chain hanging down to switch it on in the dark. We kept the round wood plate, the short arm, the tipping cone and the chain, and brought them ashore.

Solid Wood Lighting
Each Docos lamp is shaped from a single, slow-grown hardwood — oak, walnut, ash, cherry — finished by hand and fitted with warm 2700K bulbs. No two pieces are alike, because no two trees are.

We use FSC-certified North American hardwoods and finish with low-VOC oils. Built to last decades, not seasons.
From measurement to finish, woodworking demands a balance of structure and patience. Every cut is squared, every joint dry-fit, every surface hand-sanded to 220 grit before oiling.
Each curve is shaped to honor the grain, not fight it. The result isn't just a lamp — it's a story of patience, passed from craftsman to customer through a single block of wood.
