Inspiration

The Stellaxis Floor Lamp started from a builder’s plumb line: a thin string held perfectly straight by a pointed weight at the bottom, hanging true beside a wall. We made the string a slim steel rod and the weight a teardrop-shaped base, then set five small round lights along the upper part of the rod, evenly spaced, like a short row of stars strung on a line.

How does the breathing effect work?
Each of the five heads slowly brightens and dims over 6–8 seconds, and the heads take turns, so the circles of light on the wall shift gently from one to the next.
What color is the light?
Three heads give neutral light and two give golden yellow light, so the wall shows a mix of cool-white and warm amber circles. The lamp itself is a chrome rod on a black base.
Where should I place it?
Stand it 20–35cm/7.9–13.8″ from a plain wall so the circles of light land on it clearly: a living room corner, beside a sofa or bed, or in an entryway. It stands on its own. It is an ambient floor lamp, so for reading, use a table lamp or ceiling light alongside it.
How do I turn it on?
It plugs into a standard outlet and turns on and off with the foot switch on the 450cm/177″ cord. The 8W LED is built in, so there are no bulbs to fit.
