Inspiration

The Orabella is built from two layers of pleating at different scale — a broad scalloped petal shade folded by hand, and a finer ribbed shade sitting inside it. Light has to pass through both, so the outer folds cast their own soft shadows onto the inner ribs and the shade reads as depth rather than as a surface. Pleating is slow, hand work, which is why no two shades fold quite the same way.

Care

Dust along the pleats with a soft dry brush rather than across them, which flattens the folds. Keep water off the fabric; wipe metal parts with a dry cloth.

FAQ

Which diameter suits my table?

Aim for a shade roughly half to two-thirds the width of the table. The 19.7″ suits tables around 30–36″ wide, the 23.6″ around 36–44″, and the 31.5″ needs a wide table or island — it's a statement piece and will overwhelm a small room. The 15.7″ is really an entry, bedside, or nook size rather than a dining size. On a long rectangular table, two of the smaller diameters often read better than one large.

Will mine look exactly like the photo?

Close, but not identically. The shade is pleated by hand, so fold spacing, the depth of the scallop, and fabric tone differ between pieces. If you order two for a run, expect them to be siblings rather than clones — set them at the same drop and the difference reads as craft rather than mismatch.

How do I set the drop?

The cord adjusts at install, up to about 59″ from the ceiling, so decide the hanging height before the electrician finishes — over a table, work from the 30–36″ clearance above the surface rather than from the ceiling down. Excess cord is taken up inside the canopy rather than cut. In a walkway or open floor area, allow at least 7 ft of clearance below the shade.
