Inspiration

The Marovyn Plug In Marble Wall Sconce started from the oval marble plaques set into the walls of old European entry halls, a smooth slab of veined stone that once carried a family name or a house number. Over time the lettering wore away and only the polished oval was left, catching whatever light came through the door. We kept that plain oval of marble on the wall, and set a round white glass globe against it, off to one side, like a lamp hung beside the old nameplate.

Natural marble

The backplate is cut from natural marble. The veining, color and pattern differ on every piece, so no two sconces look exactly the same, and a pair will not match exactly.

Do I need an electrician?

No. It is a plug-in sconce: screw it to the wall, run the cord down to an outlet and plug it in. That makes it a good fit for apartments, rentals and dorm rooms where you cannot hardwire a light.

Is the backplate real marble?

Yes. The backplate is cut from natural marble, so the veining and pattern vary from piece to piece. Wipe it with a dry cloth and keep acidic cleaners off the stone.

Which marble color should I choose?

Terracotta is a warm red-brown with white veins, Black & Gold gives the strongest contrast against the white globe, and White & Gray is the lightest and blends into a pale wall.

Is a bulb included, and how do I turn it on?

Yes. It comes with one G9 bulb in warm 3000K light. G9 is a small bi-pin bulb, so use the same type when you replace it. It turns on with the inline switch on the 180cm/71″ cord.
