Inspiration

The Tasselle borrows from curtain making rather than lighting. A scalloped hem, a contrasting cord run along the edge, and a single tassel hung at the center are the trimmings a workroom adds to soften a plain panel — so they were applied to a wide, shallow shade instead. The tassel is the part that gives it away: it hangs free, moves slightly in a draught, and puts a small piece of ornament where most ceiling lights finish flat.

Which size should I pick?

Add the room's length and width in feet and use that number in inches as the diameter. A hallway, powder room, or small bedroom takes the 15.7″; most bedrooms sit with the 19.6″; a living or dining room suits the 23.6″. All three share the same shade, trim, and tassel — only the scale changes.

Can it really go in a bathroom?

Yes — it is damp rated, which covers a bathroom ceiling and a covered porch or entry, unlike most fabric fixtures. Keep it clear of direct spray and exposed weather: damp rated means humidity and condensation, not water landing on it.

What bulb does it take, and can I dim it?

One E26 or E27 medium screw bulb, up to 40W incandescent or the LED equivalent, and a bulb is included. It works with a dimmer as long as the bulb is labelled dimmable and the switch is LED-compatible — the dimmer is not included.

How is it installed, and how do I clean the tassel?

It hardwires to a standard ceiling junction box through the metal canopy, so a licensed electrician is recommended. Dust the shade and tassel with a soft brush, working along the nap rather than against it, and wipe the metal with a dry cloth — don't soak the fabric.

They spread light rather than reduce it — the shade glows evenly across its surface. Pair with a higher-lumen bulb for task lighting, or a standard warm-white bulb for ambient light.

Got this for the nursery. The fabric shade is really soft and the tassel is a cute touch. Wasn't hard to install, took my husband maybe 30 min. Light is on the warmer side which works for us.
