The Cressmont Table Lamp started from striped beach umbrellas and old carnival tents, their canvas panels running in wide bands from a single point at the top. We shaped the shade as a small ceramic dome with that same pattern, glazed in alternating stripes of cream and either deep brown or navy, and finished it with a round metal knob at the crown. It sits on a wooden base that tapers gently toward the top, like a short column. Lit, the glossy stripes catch the light while a warm pool falls on the table below.

Each Docos lamp is shaped from a single, slow-grown hardwood — oak, walnut, ash, cherry — finished by hand and fitted with warm 2700K bulbs. No two pieces are alike, because no two trees are.

From measurement to finish, woodworking demands a balance of structure and patience. Every cut is squared, every joint dry-fit, every surface hand-sanded to 220 grit before oiling.
