Inspiration

The Lumira Chandelier started from a sheet of glass pulled while the color was still moving through it. On the bench the pieces had not been trimmed square yet — the edges were soft and slightly uneven, and the swirl inside each one ran its own direction. Stacking them in two staggered rows, the way roof tiles overlap, kept those uneven edges in view instead of hiding them behind a frame. The frame itself was held back to a thin armature so the glass carries the piece. What it ends up looking like is a run of panes caught mid-pour.

Key Features

Swirled Glass Tiles
Color is worked into clear glass while hot, so the pattern and density differ on every tile.
Two Staggered Rows
Tiles clip to a gold iron armature in two overlapping rows, with the uneven edges left unsquared.
Sockets Behind the Glass
Bulbs sit inside the frame, so light reads through the tiles and picks up the swirl rather than glaring off the surface.

FAQ

Which size fits my kitchen island?
A linear fixture usually looks right at about two-thirds the length of the surface below it. The Small at L 90cm/35.4″ suits an island or dining table of roughly 120–180cm/48–72″; the Large at L 120cm/47.2″ suits 180–240cm/72–96″.
How high should it hang?
Over a kitchen island or dining table, leave about 76–86cm/30–34″ from the surface to the bottom of the fixture. The 150cm/59″ chain is shortened at installation, so the drop is set on site.
How much light does it give?
The Small runs 9 × 12W and the Large 10 × 12W, in warm light at 3000K. Bulbs are included. The sockets sit behind the tiles, so it works as ambient light over a table rather than focused task light on a work surface.
Do the glass tiles look identical?
No. Color is swirled into each tile while the glass is hot and the edges are left unsquared, so pattern, depth and outline shift from tile to tile. That variation is the intended look, not a defect.

Docos Murano glass lighting

Every Piece, Singular.

No two of our hand-blown lamps are alike. Yours will exist nowhere else.

Why Docos

A Thousand Years of Murano.
In Every Lamp.

On a single Venetian island, master glassblowers have shaped molten color into light since 1291. We work directly with these same artisans — fewer than a hundred remain — to bring their fire, breath, and signature into your home. Every Docos piece is hand-blown, hand-finished, and signed by its maker. There are no factories. Only furnaces, time, and a skill that cannot be hurried.

The Murano Method

Six Steps. Two Thousand Degrees.
One Heirloom.

Every Docos lamp passes through three to five master craftsmen — each step impossible to fake, hurry, or outsource.

Gathering molten glass
01

Gathering

Pulled from the 1,150°C furnace — the moment glass becomes possibility.

Coloring with metallic oxides
02

Coloring

Layered with metallic oxides — copper for green, gold for ruby, cobalt for deep blue.

Glassblower shaping by breath
03

Shaping

Blown and turned by breath alone — the maestro's lungs sculpting the silhouette.

Hand-sculpting glass details
04

Sculpting

Petals, leaves, and finials pulled by hand while the glass still glows orange.

Annealing oven
05

Annealing

Cooled across 24 hours — the silent step that locks in lifetime strength.

Maestro signing finished piece
06

Signing

Each lamp inspected, numbered, and signed by the maestro who made it.

One-of-a-Kind

No Two Pieces Alike.
That's the Promise of Murano.

The swirls, bubbles, and color shifts in your Docos lamp aren't flaws to be polished away. They're fingerprints — proof your light was breathed into being by a single artisan, on a single morning, from a single gather of glass. Mass-produced lighting can be replaced. Yours cannot.

Sommerso layered glass

Sommerso. Layered.

Colors dipped layer by layer, suspended in crystal — a depth that shifts as light moves.

Pulegoso bubbled glass

Pulegoso. Bubbled.

Trapped air scattered like champagne — every bubble catching the bulb behind it.

Battuto hammered glass

Battuto. Hammered.

Hand-struck facets that fracture light like cut stone — each strike unrepeatable.
