Inspiration

The Marielle takes the plain fabric lampshade and cuts it into petals — six panels, each seamed and curved so the bottom edge scallops instead of finishing in a straight ring. Two tones of cloth, cream against beige, keep the panels reading separately even when the light is off. At the top, a turned walnut finial does the job a metal fitting usually does, which is the whole idea: soft cloth, warm wood, and as little visible hardware as possible.

One size: Ø15.7″ × H11″ (Ø40 × H28 cm), suited to rooms of about 54–86 sq ft (5–8 m²) and ceilings of 8–10 ft. Over a small table, leave 6–8″ clear on each side and hang the bottom 30–36″ (75–90 cm) above the surface; above a nightstand, 24–30″ (60–75 cm). In an entryway, keep at least 7 ft of floor clearance.

Is a bulb included, and what fits?
Yes — a warm white bulb is included, so it lights up out of the box. The socket takes a single E26 or E27 medium base bulb (the US standard screw size), up to 40W incandescent or 12W LED equivalent; a 2700K warm white replacement brings out the amber tones in the cream and beige fabric.
Can I install it myself, or do I need an electrician?
It hardwires to a standard US ceiling junction box. A handy DIYer with hardwiring experience can manage it, but a licensed electrician is recommended for code compliance. The fixture is light, so no reinforced bracing is needed.
Is 15.7″ the right size for my spot?
It suits compact rooms of 54–86 sq ft. Over a table, leave 6–8″ clear on each side and hang it 30–36″ above the surface. Above a nightstand or at an island end it reads as a single accent rather than a centerpiece — for a full-size dining table, size up.
Does it work with a dimmer?
Yes, with a dimmable LED bulb and an LED-rated wall dimmer. Older incandescent dimmers can flicker or buzz on an LED load, so check the dimmer's spec sheet before installing.
