Amber glass has been used to hold light since the days of apothecary jars and railway lanterns — the color warms whatever passes through it, so even a small bulb reads as candlelight rather than lamplight. This pendant keeps the idea small: a single amber globe on a slim brass-and-ash-wood stem, no more than a tumbler in size. The brass catches a little of the glow, the ash wood cools it back down. Lit, it looks like something old that happens to be wired.

At Ø6.8″ this is a mini pendant, so it does its best work in multiples — two or three in a row over an island or a bar counter, spaced roughly 24–30″ apart, or one on each side of a bed in place of table lamps. On its own it suits a hallway, an entry, or a stairwell where you want a warm marker rather than real output: a single 15W-equivalent bulb behind amber glass is accent light, so layer it with recessed or under-cabinet lighting in a working kitchen.
