Celisse Pendant Light

Celisse starts from a bell — the shape a shade takes when it's thrown on a wheel and allowed to flare at the bottom. The hem is left fluted, the way a potter's fingers would ripple the wet edge before it sets, so the only ornament on the piece is a record of how it was made. Above it, a slim three-prong metal yoke holds the porcelain the way a cradle holds something breakable, ending in a small sphere finial rather than a bracket.

Celisse is an ambient pendant for compact rooms — over a nightstand, a powder-room vanity, a single armchair, or a breakfast nook for two. The included warm-white LED gives about 1200 lumens, enough for ambient light and light task use, and dims with a compatible LED dimmer. It's deliberately small for the category, so a dining table seating four or more, or a kitchen island, wants either a wider fixture or a cluster of three.
