Inspiration

The Norvick Floor Coat Rack started from the coat stands that stood by the door of old American diners and barbershops, a single tall pole with round knobs near the top for hats and coats, and an iron ring lower down where umbrellas leaned on rainy days. Customers hung their things on the way in without thinking about it, and the stand never moved from its corner. We kept that one-pole shape, the knobs and the umbrella ring, with warm wood on top and black iron below.

The rack weighs 10.13kg/22.3 lb and stands on a 33cm/13″ round iron base, so it stays steady with everyday coats and bags. For best balance, spread heavy items across the 8 hooks rather than hanging them all on one side.
Where does it fit?
It takes up only a 33cm/13″ circle of floor, so it fits beside a front door, in a mudroom, at the end of a hallway or in a bedroom corner. At 170cm/66.9″ tall, long coats hang clear of the floor.
Can it hold umbrellas?
Yes. Stand umbrellas inside the iron ring at mid-height, with their tips resting in the dish-shaped base. Let wet umbrellas dry before leaving them there for long.
