Set the backplate at about 150–160cm/59–63″ from the floor beside a bed or mirror, so the top of the cup sits just above eye level when standing and the glow, not the bulb, is what you see.

Where does the light go?

Alabaster can't be moulded or mass-pressed — it is cut. Every shade starts as solid stone and is worked by hand until it's thin enough to glow evenly. That's why no two are the same.

Quarried

Blocks of natural alabaster are extracted and graded for translucency and the quality of their veining before any cutting begins.

Cut & shaped

Each block is sliced and turned or carved to form, then hollowed so a bulb can sit behind the stone wall.

Hand-finished

The walls are sanded to an even thickness so light passes through without dark patches, then polished by hand.

Wired & assembled

Fitted with brass hardware and wired to a 120V, safety-certified build, then inspected before it ships.
