Inspiration

The Caviano Floor Lamp is a woven straw sun hat set on top of a walking cane. The shade is a wide, low cone of hand-woven straw in a small cream diamond pattern, with a brown binding along the rim like the edge of a hat brim. It sits on a slim pole in brushed brass tone, and the lower part of the pole is finished in a warm wood grain, the way a cane has a wooden grip below its metal fittings. At the bottom, a round brass-tone base keeps the whole lamp steady on the floor. Lit, the diamond weave shows through the shade as a soft pattern and the light spreads down around the base.

Is the lower pole real wood?
No. The pole is iron, and the lower section has a water-transfer wood-grain finish. It gives the look of wood with the strength of a metal pole.
What kind of light does it give?
The straw weave lets a soft, patterned glow through the shade, and most light falls down around the lamp. Ambient light for a living room or bedroom, and enough for reading beside a chair.
Where does it fit best?
At 147cm/57.9″ tall with a 40cm/15.7″ shade, it sits beside a sofa arm or reading chair so the shade is just above seated eye level. The 28cm/11″ base fits into a corner or next to an end table.
Which bulb should I use?
A warm-light bulb is included. For replacements use an E26 or E27 LED A19, 2700–3000K, so the straw shade stays cool.
