Norevia Pendant Lamp

The Norevia Pendant Lamp is a woven basket hung by its handle. White cotton thread is wound in tight vertical rows over an iron frame to make a tapered drum, and two bands of dark brown running stitch cross it near the rim, the way a rush basket is bound at the edge. Above the shade a turned cone of ash wood, stained walnut, tapers up to the cord; below it a thin brass hoop swings under the drum holding a single wooden ball, like a bead on a basket handle. Lit from within, the thread glows and the stitch marks show as dark dashes, which is why this cotton thread pendant light with wood finial was designed for a breakfast nook, bedside, or entryway in Japandi and mid-century homes.
