Is the bulb included? What type?

Yes — one bulb is included. The socket fits an E12 or E14 candelabra base (E12 is the US standard for chandelier-style bulbs; E14 is the European/Asian equivalent and the same physical socket here), up to 40W incandescent or 5W LED equivalent. Replacement bulbs are stocked at Home Depot, Lowe's, and Amazon under "candelabra base".

Is this a flush mount or semi-flush mount?

A semi-flush mount. The brass canopy mounts to the ceiling with a short stem, so the fixture hangs about 10 inches below the ceiling — close enough for 8 ft ceilings, but not as flat as a true flush mount.

Is the shade real rattan?

Yes — the petals are woven rattan cane set in a brass frame, not printed or molded plastic. Because each panel is woven, the cane texture varies slightly from petal to petal.

Can I install it myself or do I need an electrician?
