Inspiration

Venetian glassmakers have long drawn colour through clear glass rather than colouring the whole body — a coloured core pulled out into a ribbon, so the tint sits inside and the surface stays bright. The Velisse is built entirely from those ribbons, each curved by hand while hot and clipped to the frame in descending rows. Light then has to cross several layers of glass on its way out, which is why the fixture reads as depth rather than as a single silhouette.

Hand-curved ribbons hang in descending rows — 22, 34, or 55 pieces by size — forming an inverted cone that reads sculptural from any angle.

Colour Inside Clear Glass

Each ribbon carries a swirled coloured core within clear glass, so the colour stays soft and layered instead of reading as a solid tint.

Chrome Chain Suspension

The glass clips to an iron frame hung from a polished chrome chain, with links added or removed at install to set the drop.

Care

Switch off and let it cool first. Dust the ribbons with a microfiber cloth, supporting each piece with your other hand so the clip isn't stressed; put glass cleaner on the cloth, never spray it into the fixture. Wipe chrome dry and avoid abrasives.

FAQ

Which size suits my room?

A workable rule for a dining chandelier is a diameter around half the table width. The small suits a 4–6 seat table, the medium a 6–8 seat, and the large needs an 8–10 seat table, a stairwell, or a double-height entry — at 31.5″ across and nearly 25″ tall it will crowd a standard 8 ft ceiling. Height matters as much as width here, since the tiers are deep: check the drop against your ceiling before choosing.

Which colourway, and will it match the photos?

Cranberry Pink is the boldest and reads strongest unlit; Blush Pink is the softest; Blue and Green hold their colour best against a white ceiling; Clear relies on the swirl and the light alone. Because every ribbon is shaped by hand, curve, swirl pattern, and exact tone differ between pieces and between fixtures — a cluster of 55 ribbons will never be a repeat. That variation is what separates hand-formed glass from moulded.

What does the ceiling need to support?

This is a glass-heavy fixture and the weight climbs steeply with size — 55 ribbons plus an iron frame is not a load for a plastic box screwed into drywall. Have your electrician confirm the box is fixture-rated and anchored to a joist or a proper brace before hanging, and on the 9- and 16-light sizes expect the wiring through the frame to take longer than a single-socket pendant.
