I think assembly was pretty easy to follow but I was a little thrown that the grounding wasn't imaged in the video. I saw the review about someone else drilling the lamp the right direction but you can easily just loosen the bolt, rotate and tighten again. Looks super cute up and has worked well so far.
I love the look of these sconces. They were a bit tricky to install for a few reasons. 1) The hole to run the wires through the wood block was on the wrong end (facing up), so I had to drill another hole through the bottom so that the wires could run downward and plug into the wall. Easy enough to do, but an annoying extra step that some people may not be comfortable doing. Hopefully just a manufacturing defect that doesn't impact all units. 2) The shades came cleverly packaged for shipping, but it took me a while to figure out that they were inside out and had to be flipped inward before unfolding and attaching to the wire ring. This part was difficult to do without causing creases/dents in the shade, but I managed to avoid any major damage. I will also caution that the metal part of the fixture that holds the lightbulb casing is very soft/cheap, so do not overtighten (mine started to warp). Overall, I love the look of the lights and the quality control issues are not a problem now that they are mounted on the wall, but you need to take care when installing for the end result to turn out well.

These lamps are simple and stylish in a "Country Cottage Chic" kind of way, while being economical. They are exactly what I wanted as sconces in a partially pine paneled Country Cottage music room. They are medium to small scale, and the shades are simple but seem of good quality.
We rent so I can't put in permanent lamps, so plug ins are the way to go. This was easy to assemble and my husband hung it in just a few minutes. I like the style, I think it's different, kind of funky. I love that it has an on/off switch. This will fit in with many different decor's, farmhouse, boho, industrial, very versatile.
