Radiora Wall Lamp

Radiora borrows from the small enamelled appliances of the sixties — the radios and hairdryers built as one glossy shell with the working part left plainly on show. So the body is a short, rounded form in a single high-gloss colour, and the bulb sits out in the open at the end of it, mirrored at the tip so it throws the light back at the wall instead of into the room. Nothing is concealed. The colour does the decorating.

At W5.9″ × H5.1″ Radiora is a compact accent light — small enough for a bedside, hallway, stairwell, or the wall beside a mirror, and useful in a pair or a run of three where a larger sconce would crowd the wall. The damp rating also puts it in a bathroom or on a covered porch or balcony wall. One thing worth planning for: the bulb is exposed, so it's visible from across the room. Mounting it at or above 66″ from the floor keeps it out of the seated sightline, and a lower-output or frosted bulb keeps it comfortable in a small room.
