Tintora Wall Sconce

Overview

The Tintora Wall Sconce is a half-round wall fixture built from hand-glazed ceramic petals in burgundy, blush, coral, smoky blue, cream, and teal — the same maximalist Italian-cottage palette as the Tintora Chandelier — finished with a layer of tinted glass droplets hanging from the bottom edge. The two materials work together: opaque ceramic for color and silhouette, translucent glass for the light-catching cascade beneath.

Mounted to the wall as a half-cascade, Tintora extends into the room as a sculptural three-dimensional fixture — sized to flank a fireplace, a bedroom headboard, an entry mirror, or a hallway accent wall. Three E14 bulbs included.

Key Features

Ceramic + Glass · Two Materials
Hand-glazed ceramic petals form the colored body — opaque, sculptural, color sitting saturated on the surface. Glass droplets hang along the bottom edge, translucent so they catch and refract light against the wall.
Half-Round Tiered Profile
A demi-lune silhouette — flat against the wall, with petals and droplets cascading outward in three tiers. Reads as a sculptural object on the wall instead of a flat panel sconce.
3 × E14 Bulbs Included
Three E14 candelabra bulbs ship with the fixture — installs ready to light. E14 is widely available at standard hardware stores for replacement.
The Tintora Palette

Six fixed glaze colors layered top-to-bottom on the ceramic petals — same color logic as the Tintora Chandelier, scaled down for wall mounting. Glass droplets at the bottom are tinted in matching tones to complete the cascade.

Hardwired Wall Sconce · Indoor Dry Use Only Tintora Wall Sconce is a hardwired fixture that mounts to a standard wall electrical box — not a plug-in light. The fixture's weight is within range for a standard junction box; no structural beam reinforcement needed for this size. Plan for the wall projection when choosing placement — keep clear of doorways, walking paths, and corner clearances. We recommend a licensed electrician for the wiring step. Indoor dry locations only — please don't install in bathrooms (away from showers), covered porches, or other humidity-prone rooms.

Where It Works

Mount as a pair flanking a bed, a fireplace, an entry mirror, or a powder-room vanity — Tintora Wall Sconce is sized for the kind of placement where two matching fixtures define a wall. The recommended mounting height is 60–66″ from the floor to the center of the fixture for living and dining rooms, or aligned with the top of a headboard in bedrooms. Plan room for the wall projection when measuring corners, door frames, and walking paths.

In a hallway or staircase, single Tintora sconces spaced 8–10 ft apart provide ambient guidance lighting that's softer and more sculptural than recessed downlights. As accent fixtures alongside a Tintora Chandelier in the same room, the sconces extend the chandelier's color palette outward to the walls — useful for large dining rooms, double-height entries, or grand staircases where one chandelier alone leaves the perimeter dim. Tintora is an ambient sconce, not task lighting — for bathroom vanity makeup application, choose a dedicated vanity bar instead.

FAQ

What are the petals and droplets made of?
Tintora uses two materials. The colored petals — the scalloped trim, leaf shapes, and bell-shaped pieces — are hand-glazed ceramic. Each ceramic piece is shaped, fired in a kiln, then glazed and fired again for the color finish. The droplets along the bottom edge are tinted glass, translucent so they catch light against the wall and add a refracted shimmer. The combination gives Tintora both the saturated color of opaque ceramic and the light-catching quality of glass crystal.
Does it match the Tintora Chandelier?
Yes. Tintora Wall Sconce uses the same six-color glaze palette and the same ceramic-plus-glass material combination as the Tintora Chandelier — designed to be installed in the same room as a layered lighting set. Use the chandelier as the central overhead and pair the sconce on flanking walls to extend the color palette outward.
How many bulbs and what type?
Three E14 candelabra-base LED bulbs are included with the fixture, so it ships ready to install and turn on. E14 is the small candelabra screw base — sold at any US hardware store for replacement. For replacements, choose a warm-white LED in the 2700K–3000K range to complement the burgundy and walnut color palette.
Can I install it myself?
Tintora is hardwired and mounts to a standard wall electrical box. If you've installed a sconce before and you're comfortable with line-voltage wiring and a ground connection, yes. Otherwise, hire a licensed electrician. Always shut off the breaker at the panel before working on the fixture. The fixture's weight does not require structural beam reinforcement — a standard wall junction box handles it.
Will the colors look the same as the studio photos?
Close but slightly deeper. Studio photos use bright white light to show all six colors clearly. In a typical home with warm bulbs, the burgundy reads deeper, the blush reads creamier, and the smoky blue reads more muted. The hand-firing process also means each ceramic petal has subtle variation in saturation and surface texture — closer to a heritage pottery piece than a printed surface. The glass droplets show variation too — slight bubbling and tone differences that mark them as hand-finished.
Does it work with a dimmer?
Yes, with the right bulbs. The included LEDs are fixed-output. To dim, replace with E14 LEDs explicitly labeled "dimmable" and pair with an LED-compatible wall dimmer. Standard non-dimmable LEDs flicker or fail on a dimmer.
How do I clean the ceramic petals and glass droplets?
Dust the entire fixture with a soft brush or microfiber duster every few weeks. For deeper cleaning every 6–12 months: wipe the ceramic petals with a dry or barely-damp microfiber cloth — avoid soaking the ceramic, and never use abrasive cleaners that can strip the glaze. For the glass droplets, a microfiber cloth lightly dampened with water or mild glass cleaner works well — avoid harsh ammonia-based sprays. Always shut off the breaker before touching the fixture.
Can I use it in a bathroom or covered porch?
No. Tintora is rated for indoor dry locations only. Humidity over time can affect the ceramic glaze, the iron frame finish, and the electrical components. Keep it in dining rooms, living rooms, foyers, bedrooms, hallways, staircases, and similar dry interior spaces.
