Kami Ceiling Lamp

Kami takes its name from folded paper, and the shade holds that idea: a pleated skirt that catches shadow along every crease, so a shallow dome stops looking flat. We set it inside a plain rim to hold the pleats taut and left the edge of the fold visible all the way round. It's a small fixture, and the pleating is the reason it still registers in a room. The colourways stay soft, so the shape does the talking.

At Ø9″ and only 6.3″ deep, Kami sits close to the ceiling — it suits a bathroom, powder room, entry, hallway, or small bedroom, and any low-ceiling room where a pendant would hang in the way. In a longer corridor, run three or four spaced roughly 24–32″ apart. The damp rating also puts it on a covered porch, patio, or balcony ceiling, where most decorative fixtures can't go. Because the acrylic is diffusing rather than clear, the light spreads soft and wide rather than pooling in one spot, so treat it as ambient light and add a task lamp where you need to read.
