Inspiration

The Calanora Flush Mount Ceiling Light is a woven basket turned upside down. Flat rattan strands are plaited in a herringbone weave over a metal frame, the way a market basket is built, and the bottom edge is cut into a run of scallops and bound in white cord, borrowed from the trimmed brim of a woven sun hat. A short stem and a plain white canopy hold it close to the ceiling. Lit from within, the weave glows amber and throws a dappled pattern onto the ceiling, which is why this woven rattan scalloped flush mount light was designed for a bedroom, hallway, or entryway in coastal, boho, and cottagecore homes.

Yes. The whole fixture is 26cm/10.2″ tall from ceiling to rim, so on a 2.4m/8 ft ceiling there is still over 2.1m/7 ft of clearance underneath.
How does the light come through the rattan?
The bulb lights the open bottom directly and glows through the small gaps in the herringbone weave, casting a soft speckled pattern on the ceiling. It reads as warm ambient light rather than a bright task light.
