Inspiration

The Selunora Pendant Lamp began with two things found in a craft basket: a spool of natural cotton rope and a handful of felt pom-poms. The rope is wound row by row around an iron drum, the way cord is wrapped around a hand-thrown planter, until the whole shade shows a fine ribbed texture. Pink, cream, and white pom-poms are then stitched on wherever they land, like dots on a hand-sewn quilt. Lit from within, the rope turns the drum into a warm lantern, which is why this cotton rope drum pendant light with pom-poms was designed with a nursery or kids' bedroom in mind.

Which diameter fits a nursery or kids' room?
40cm/15.7″ suits a small nursery or a corner over a crib or reading chair, 50cm/19.7″ a standard 10 × 10 ft bedroom, and 60cm/23.6″ a larger kids' room or playroom.
How does light pass through the rope?
The cotton rope is wound in rows with fine gaps between them, so the drum glows warm from the inside while the open bottom sends direct 3000K light down. It works as ambient light, not a task lamp.
Are the pom-poms removable?
No. The felt pom-poms are fixed onto the rope at the factory and arrive attached in pink, cream, and white; their positions vary slightly from shade to shade.
How low does it hang?
The drum is 38cm/15″ tall and hangs from a 150cm/59″ cord below a round canopy. The cord is cut to length at installation, so it works from 2.4m/8 ft ceilings up.
