Inspiration

The Vardessa Marble Wall Sconce started from the lamps over shop doors in old Italian town squares, each one a wide, flat metal hat on a bent arm, with a white glass globe hanging underneath. At closing time the globes light up one by one along the arcade, and each hat throws a neat circle of light onto the step below. We kept the bent arm and the white globe, and cut the wide hat from veined marble instead of metal.

Natural stone

The shade is cut from natural marble or onyx. The veining, color and pattern differ on every piece, so no two sconces look exactly the same, and a pair will not match exactly.

Is the shade real stone?
Yes. The shade is cut from natural marble or onyx, so the veining and pattern vary from piece to piece. Wipe it with a dry cloth and keep acidic cleaners off the stone.
Which stone color should I choose?
Terracotta is a warm red-brown with white veins, Pink is softer and lighter, and Green Onyx brings a cool green accent that stands out against the brass.
Where should I mount it?
The arm reaches 38cm/15″ from the wall, so the light lands over a bed, a reading chair, a kitchen sink or a vanity. In narrow hallways, check that there is room to walk past it.
Is a bulb included, and how is it installed?
Yes. It comes with one G9 bulb in warm 3000K light. G9 is a small bi-pin bulb, so use the same type when you replace it. The sconce is hardwired to a wall junction box, so we recommend a licensed electrician for installation.
