Verdelle Ceramic Vase

The Verdelle Ceramic Vase started from a study of leaves at the point where they begin to turn — the moment a broad blade folds back on itself, one edge lifting while another curls under. That single gesture became the whole pattern. Instead of a repeating motif, the leaves were laid across the vase in overlapping strokes, so each form leans into the next the way foliage does as it collapses inward. Greens, ochres and browns sit side by side because a leaf rarely holds one color at that stage.

Style A sits low and wide, so it works as a dining room table centerpiece or on a kitchen island where you still want to see across the counter — its 8 cm mouth keeps short stems from splaying out. Style B is 40 cm tall and reads as a floor-adjacent or console piece: set it on an entryway console with tall dried pampas or eucalyptus branches, or beside a fireplace on the hearth. Both work on open shelving in a modern farmhouse kitchen, on a mid-century credenza, or on a bedroom dresser, where the painted leaves bring in green without needing live plants and upkeep.
