Inspiration

This one looks back to the old hanging lantern — a wooden frame built to hold glass, with the light living inside rather than pointing out. The wood does the drawing and the glass does the glowing, so lit at night the frame reads as dark lines around a warm center. It's a compact volume, near enough to a cube in proportion, which is what keeps a heavy vintage look from overwhelming a small room. Walnut for something quieter, orange for a fixture that carries the corner on its own.

Key Features

Wood Frame, Glass Panels

A wood body holds the glass, so the frame draws the shape and the glass carries the glow — in walnut or orange.

Two Bulbs, Dimmable

Two E26 or E27 sockets for a warm, even ambient light, and it works with a dimmer switch for evening levels.

Damp Rated

Rated for damp locations, so it can hang in a bathroom or under a covered porch — not just in dry interior rooms.

Use Case

At 12.9″ across and 12.9″ tall it's a small fixture with a lot of visual weight, which makes it a good fit for spots that need a focal point but not much light spread — an entry, a hallway, a stairwell landing, a small bathroom. The damp rating opens up places most wood fixtures can't go, including a covered porch or a sheltered entry. Two bulbs behind glass give a warm ambient glow rather than directed light, so add a dimmer if you want to drop it right down in the evening. Walnut sits quietly with existing wood; orange is the one to pick if you want the fixture noticed. Email info@docos.us for trade pricing or to ask about a finish.

FAQ

What bulbs does it use — are they included?

It takes two E26 or E27 bulbs (the standard medium screw base — E26 in the US, E27 in Europe and Asia, same physical socket here), up to 40W each incandescent or the LED equivalent. Warm white 3000K bulbs are included and fully replaceable.

Can it go in a bathroom or outdoors?

It's damp rated, so a bathroom ceiling or a covered outdoor area — a porch ceiling, a sheltered entry — is fine. It isn't wet rated, and the body is wood, so keep it out of direct rain, a shower spray zone, and fully exposed positions.

Does it work with a dimmer?

Yes, with a compatible dimmer switch (not included) and dimmable bulbs. If you're running LED, pair it with an LED-rated dimmer — older incandescent dimmers can flicker or buzz on LED loads.

How is it installed, and how big is it?

It's hardwired to a standard ceiling junction box, and a licensed electrician is recommended. The fixture measures Ø12.9″ × H12.9″ (Ø33 × H33 cm) — compact, so it suits an entry, hallway, or small bathroom rather than a large open room.

Materials & Craft

Made by Hands, Not Machines

Three signature qualities you'll feel the moment you unbox your Docos lamp.

★ Master Artisan Crafted

— 01 / Hand-Blown Glass

Every fixture begins as molten breath.

Our glass is shaped at over 1,100°C by a single artisan, in a single sitting — never mass-produced, never identical. This ancient process gives each lamp the optical clarity, gentle imperfections, and soulful character that machines simply cannot replicate.

Lead-free borosilicate glass for exceptional clarity & heat resistance
Subtle organic variations make every piece truly one-of-a-kind
Polished by hand — no sharp edges, no machine seams

— 02 / Superior Optical Quality

A glow you can actually feel.

The flawless surface of Docos glass scatters light evenly — no harsh hotspots, no dull patches. The result is a soft, ambient glow that feels like late-afternoon sunlight, even on the darkest evenings.

Diffuses light at 92% transmission — warmer than frosted plastic
Compatible with E26 / E27 LED, dimmable & smart bulbs
