Inspiration

The Briarcourt Chandelier started from a wild briar rose that had climbed the iron gate of an old courtyard: its stems twisted in and out of the bars, its leaves had turned bronze in the late summer sun, and roses opened wherever the vine found a gap. We shaped the gate, the vine and the leaves in metal, painted them by hand, set ceramic roses along every stem, and placed candle lights where the gate’s finials would have stood.

Hand-Painted Finish: The frame is painted by hand, so its tone and brush marks vary slightly from piece to piece and from the photos. The color of the ceramic roses may also differ a little between batches. These differences come from the handwork and are not defects.

5 or 6 lights?
The 5-light (48cm/18.9″) suits a bedroom, a girls’ room or a round table about 90–120cm/3–4 ft across. The 6-light (65cm/25.6″) suits a larger dining table, a living room or an entryway.
Which rose color?
All six come on the same antique gold hand-painted frame. Pink and Lavender suit a bedroom or girls’ room; Coral and Red give a bolder accent for a dining room; White and Mint Green give a softer garden look for a breakfast nook or entryway.
How bright is it?
It holds five or six E12 or E14 candle bulbs in Warm Light (3000K), included. The open bulbs light the room while the roses and leaves cast soft shadows, so it works as the main ambient light.
How is it installed?
It is hardwired to a ceiling junction box and hangs from a 50cm/19.7″ adjustable chain with a 12cm/4.7″ canopy, so we recommend a licensed electrician.
