Inspiration

The Perchmere Chandelier started from the bare branches of a pear tree in early spring: a straight trunk, branches turning out at right angles, small birds sitting along them, and the first leaves opening at the tips. We made the trunk and branches in resin, carved by hand with a texture like bark, set small carved birds along them, and put a light at the end of each branch in a cup of carved leaves, under a small fabric shade.

FAQ

4, 7 or 10 lights?

All three are 76cm/29.9″ wide. The 4-light (46cm/18.1″ tall) fits over a dining table or in a bedroom with 8–9 ft ceilings. The 7-light (97cm/38.2″) needs about 10 ft or more, for a living room or high-ceilinged dining room. The 10-light (145cm/57.1″) is for a two-story foyer or a stairwell.

White or Black?

White has a white frame and white shades, close to carved plaster. Black has a black frame and dark shades, so the branches and birds stand out against a light wall. Both glow warm when lit.

What is the frame made of?

The frame is resin and alloy, carved and sanded by hand with a bark-like texture. The birds and leaf cups are carved as part of it, so small differences from piece to piece are normal.

How is it installed?

It is hardwired to a ceiling junction box, so we recommend a licensed electrician. Set the height with the 50cm/19.7″ adjustable chain. The E12 or E14 LED bulbs are included.
